Dear Tallinn European School family,
My name is Susanna Aija and I am honored to become part of your community and excited to have the opportunity to join the fantastic and experienced team of Tallinn European School as the new Deputy Director for Secondary Cycle starting from August 2021.
I have been working in the field of education for almost fifteen years, mostly as a teacher of French as a foreign language and have always felt passionate about my job and my students. Motivated by my positive experiences in school, I am ready to take on this new and exciting challenge and feel really inspired about it.
I am looking forward to meeting you, so that we could share ideas and knowledge as I truly believe in building and having strong connections and relationships between home and school. I am also convinced that while the academic development and performance are of great importance, we should focus just as much on our students’ emotional and psychological well-being. Being mother of two, I fully comprehend the challenges we face on a daily basis to ensure that our children have a positive educational experience in a secure and supportive environment.
I am very glad to join your inspiring family and will give my best to contribute to the well-being of the whole community of Tallinn European School.
Looking forward to meeting you soon.

Hello everyone and thank you for welcoming me among the teachers’ community at TES! I am Pierre Blime, I am both French and American, and will be the new part-time Mathematics teacher for S5 and S6s. I have mostly an economic research background (Harvard University, INSEAD) and taught industrial economics and macroeconomics to INSEAD MBA candidates and Calculus to undergraduates in Sweden. I later studied again mathematical modeling at the then newly inaugurated graduate scientific computing program at the Swedish Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm. My 3 passions are my family, archaeology and the decoding of mathematical models in nature and science (such as the Golden Ratio) and I am looking forward to share that third passion with my students at TES and to contribute the best I can to TES’ academic excellence in the field of mathematics and computing science.

Hi, I’m Maris, trying to find balance in this circus act that is my life. Workwise I have previously taught Estonian and literature in middle and high school in Tallinn English College. Currently I am returning from a two-year maternity service with the sweetest little rascal ever seen who has taught me patience, understanding, and listening. Additionally, I study sociology at Tallinn University out of sheer curiosity as to what is the matter with people. Pre-baby and pre-Covid I enjoyed travelling, hiking, reading, and films, all of which I now find a challenge to integrate with modern mom-life. Fortunately, I have had the opportunity to practice my hobby of cooking during these times ad nauseam. I am excited about rejoining the workforce with a new perspective, forever aspiring to come in colours everywhere.

I really enjoy working in an international and multicultural environment. My previous life and volunteering in the field of education have brought me together with a number of Erasmus+ youth projects: I have been able to travel, interact and learn something new in various European countries in non-formal environment. I graduated from the University of Tartu in 2016 and my career has provided opportunities to work in the field of youth as well as in administrative jobs.
By nature, I am friendly, helpful and calm. In my free time I like to travel and work out as well. One can also find me fishing on a boat or sometimes singing karaoke.
