Grethen Tiits

Educational Support Coordinator for Primary and Nursery, Learning Support teacher for Primary 1-5

My name is Grethen Tiits and I am excited to join the fantastic team at Tallinn European School as the Educational Support Coordinator for Nursery and Primary.

I have been passionate about inclusive education since I was in High School, when a close family member was found to be on the Autism Spectrum. I strongly believe in equal opportunities for all learners and am convinced that the key to student success is close collaboration between the students, their parents and the teaching staff.

I earned my BA in Special Education from the University of Tartu in 2014 and my MA (Cum Laude) in Special Education and Counselling from Tallinn University in 2016. During my studies, I also joined the Erasmus+ Student Exchange Programme and studied Special Educational Needs and Inclusion at the University of Northampton in the UK for one academic year.

Most recently, I was the SEN Coordinator at the International School of Estonia for several years. I have also worked at Konstantin Päts’ Open Air School, a local school for students with special educational needs, and as a special education specialist on a rehabilitation team at Fertilitas Private Clinic.

In my free time, I enjoy expressing myself through music, which has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I have played the violin, bass guitar and piano and been a part of different choirs and vocal groups.

We have received your application. Thank you!
